HANG ON – CARRY ON’s world tour continues as it is part of the Toronto Urban Film Festival where it will be screened in different subway stations. The film will also be screened at the Minne Mini Festival in Minnesota and the Staunton International Film Festival in Virginia. 
‘Sink or swim’ wins in Illinois
Great news: This weekend my dancefilm ‘Sink or swim’ was awarded with the festival award at the Flatlands Dance Film Festival in Illinois! 
Nieuwe Festivals
HANG ON CARRY ON is binnenkort te zien op het Light moves festival (3-6 November) in Ierland en het Jumping Frames (4-14 Augustus 2016) festival in Hong Kong. Sink or swim is geselecteerd voor het RIFF-festival (29-31 Juli 2016)in Noorwegen. Beide films zijn ook te zien op het Flatlands Dance Film Festival (26/27 Augustus 2016) in Illinois.
New dancefilm project
This week we were notified that Giulio d’Anna and I can continue developing our filmplan ‘Ballroom Breakdown’. Our plan was selected by the Dutch Filmfund, the Mediafund, Cinedans and the NTR, in the context of ‘de wolf danst’. In September a final selection will be made. Hopefully we will also make the final round so that we can actually start producing.
Special Mention for ‘HANG ON – CARRY ON’
I am very honored. HANG ON – CARRY ON received a special mention at Cinedans. The words from the jury: “An elaborated formal miniature in which everything falls into place during the course of one minute.”

Ondertussen op het Sweelinck..
Onlangs met Bekijk ’t nog een projectdag voor een VMBO-dag mede-ontworpen. Leerlingen leerden acteren, filmen, monteren, werken met greenscreen, grime, foley.. En al dat materiaal kwam terecht in een film genaamd ‘De archeoloog’.
Sink or Swim opnieuw in de prijzen
Op het Fiver Dansfilm festival in Logroño, Spanje heeft ‘Sink or Swim’ opnieuw een prijs gewonnen. Ditmaal de Premio Cinedanza. Binnenkort is de film ook nog op het Athens Video Dance Festival te zien. 
InShadow Festival
HANG ON – CARRY ON heeft op het InShadow Filmfestival in Lissabon de Etic award gewonnen, een prijs voor de beste dansfilm van 1 minuut.
Uit het juryrapport:
“The jury composed by students of dance, film and education fields decided to award the intelligent and sensitive camera and editing work around such a challenging theme of contemporary society. It is a remarkable reflection.”
Metropolis
Al enige tijd begeleid ik voor stichting Bekijk ’t VMBO leerlingen in het maken korte documentaires over bedrijfjes in hun buurt. Een supergoede methode om een school en de buurt met elkaar te verbinden. Acht december was de presentatie van een nieuwe serie filmpjes rondom het Huygens College in Amsterdam.
